Solomon’s Sermon

Ecclesiastes 11 offers wisdom for anyone wrestling with uncertainty. Solomon paints three pictures, and each one carries a warning. The merchant who casts his bread upon the waters (Ecclesiastes 11:1) reminds you to do something with the life and resources God has given you. The weatherman who watches the clouds but never plants (Ecclesiastes 11:4) warns against letting fear or over-analysis keep you paralyzed. And the young man (Ecclesiastes 11:9) is reminded that life is short, youth does not last, and now is the time to act faithfully. Whether you are raising a family, serving your church, or simply trying to make the most of where God has placed you, the call is the same: trust Him and be faithful with what you have been given.
