James Last - Drina-Marsch (1968)
James Last performs his arrangement of the Serbian patriotic march Drina-Marsch, from his 1968 album Trumpet á gogo 3. This track is notable for being the debut performance on a Last record by guitarist Helmuth Franke. At the time, Franke was in the Hamburg band Wonderland, whose recordings were produced by James Last. He had previously been in the band The Tonics alongside the late Benny Bendorff, who in 1969 joined Last for a 33-year stint as his bass player. This track also features the solid rhythm work of bassist Fiete Wacker and drummer Robert Last, who enhances the song with his unique drumbeats and fills.
