Fishermen rush to rescue passengers after deadly boat accident near Alcatraz

While rescue crews rushed to the scene of a deadly boat accident near Alcatraz in the San Francisco Bay, two fishermen were already taking action. After spotting the vessel in distress, they sped over and helped pull passengers from the water. The fishermen explain to CBS News Bay Area how the rescue unfolded. Fire officials say one person died and 3 others were missing after the accident on July 14, 2026. 16 others were pulled from the water.
