The Compluvium House, designed by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos, is a contemporary residence located in the heart of Madrid, inspired by the Roman compluvium. The house is characterized by a minimalist design with a monochromatic palette and spacious, well-lit interiors. The central element is an open courtyard, surrounded by the rooms of the house, providing privacy from neighboring buildings. The interaction between the sleek interiors and the exterior is enriched by a water sheet in the courtyard, which helps naturally cool the house and serves as a visual and acoustic focal point. The architecture of the Compluvium House blends ancient principles with a contemporary formal language, creating a living environment that maximizes natural lighting, ventilation, and resident comfort.
