The level is measured differently from the engine oil. When the engine is cold, the engine oil is in the middle between L and F, which is the standard level of the engine oil. Normally, the coolant will not fall below the L level if there are no leaks. It will not rise above the F line if there are no air leaks in the reservoir, such as if the reservoir cap is leaking or damaged. (Note) The reservoir cap can be opened to add coolant. However, the engine must be cool and left parked for 10-12 hours or overnight. Filling to the L level is the standard. Note that when the engine is hot, the refrigerant will rise one inch above the F line, and when the engine cools down one inch, it will not exceed the L line. The refrigerant will not fall below the L level at the initial fill level. If there are no leaks, this indicates a radiator problem. If the refrigerant in the reservoir tank is significantly higher than the L line when initially added (after overnight parking), (1.) This could be due to a faulty reservoir cap and reservoir tank, which are not retaining air. Continued use will cause the refrigerant to rise, whether when the engine is cold (parked overnight) or hot, it will exceed the initial fill level. (How to fix a faulty cap before purchasing a replacement) 1. Replace the O-ring. 2. Clean the central shaft. There will be a spring holding the seal closed. Try cleaning it in water by dipping it in water and looking for solids. Press the spring back and forth for a while to see if there are any dust particles or loose springs. If this doesn't help, replace it. (2.) A small pipe may be leaking due to deterioration or looseness. (This can be fixed by replacing the pipe or Replace the pipe clamp and try to hold the rubber hose and turn it. If it rotates, it's loose. It's about the size of a little finger. (You can find it at hardware stores.) For a complete 3.785-liter system, two large gallons will definitely be enough. Use about one large gallon and a half more. This will leave about a little over a liter. The recommended oil change interval in the manual is 160,000 km, then every 80,000 km. Coolant Change Procedure: Bleed Air 1. Continue adding coolant to the reservoir tank. Wait until it sinks and stays still (squeeze the hose to help). Then, add more until it's slightly above the F line, but not beyond the reservoir fitting. Then, close the reservoir cap. 2. Add coolant to the radiator until it flows out of the pipe and reservoir. Use your finger to plug it and insert the hose into the reservoir. (When adding coolant, make sure the reservoir tank doesn't rise above the initial level. If the coolant level is too high, the cap is damaged and isn't holding air. You'll need to replace the cap and repeat the initial steps. If you're buying a new cap, that's all I can say.) Must be genuine.) 3. Start the engine and let it sit for 40 to 50 minutes. Open the coolant valve and blot until all air bubbles are gone. Squeeze the hose to see if any air bubbles appear (squeeze and release slowly). 4. (This is important.) Once the air bubbles are gone and the valve opens, the water in the reservoir will decrease and drain through the funnel. (If the water level does not decrease, the coolant cap is damaged.) Scoop out the coolant until the water in the reservoir drops below the F mark, or between the L and F marks. Turn off the engine and replace the radiator cap. 5. After bleeding the system, do not open the coolant cap or add refrigerant. This will reduce air pressure and prevent complete recirculation of the coolant in the radiator. 6. After leaving the engine overnight, the coolant will drop to the L mark or slightly below it. When the engine warms up, the refrigerant will rise to the F mark. This is normal operation of a closed radiator system. Additional Information: 1. If the coolant and water valve have been in use for 10 years or more, replace the coolant with a new one. 2.
