What is a PV5 and who gets it?? // 2026 Kia PV5 Review

This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new full-electric cargo van called the Kia PV5. The Kia PV5 Cargo van is coming to Canada sometime in 2026, it will not be available in the US at this time. We are hoping Kia also brings the Passenger van at some point too. For now it’s just the Cargo van. The Kia PV5 is built on Kia’s advanced EV platform which offers modular flexibility. It is designed to adapt to a wide range of real-world scenarios including, airport taxi services, family mover, camping and outdoor leisure and mobile office set-ups, the possibilities are endless. You can also switch back and forth between business and personal when the weekend arrives. It has both indoor and outdoor Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability with a 220-volt power supply. The Kia PV5 offers a futuristic design, it’s spacious, it has great versatility, convenience and safety, and a Lego assembly concept. The PV5 Cargo van will have a 71.2 kWh battery with up to 412 km/256 miles of range. It gets 161 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque and is a FWD model. The Kia PV5 redefines mobility meeting customers evolving needs. It is the first model in Kia’s PBV which stands for Platform Beyond Vehicle. It shows the brands commitment to developing sustainable business and personal mobility solutions. Kia expects to sell 250,000 of these models by 2030. First the PV5 will hit the market, followed by the PV7 in 2027 and PV9 2029. The PV5 has a payload just over 1500 pounds. The Kia PV5 interior offers stain resistant material to withstand those coffee spills and muddy work boots. A removeable front passenger seat is available to maximize cargo space. A walk-through configuration on high roof variants will be available making it easy to walk through the vehicle. It really is a driver focused environment and a minimalistic design. There is a 7.5” instrument cluster, a 12.9” navigation screen and digital key 2.0 technology. It does have a specific infotainment system based on Android Automotive to provide fleet management capabilities, third party app integrations and control of vehicle body functions for conversion models. The Kia PV5 has an 11 kW onboard charger and at a DC Fast charger can be charged from 10-80% in 30 minutes. Pricing has not been announced yet and will be available closer to the on-sale date in 2026. Andrea Instagram   / motormouth_andrea   Zack Instagram   / motormouth_auto
