Great Sodor Engines ~ E12: Paxton the All-Powerful (NOT MADE FOR KIDS!!!!!!!)
DISCLAIMER: This video is not made for kids! It’s for older fans and adults only! Plot: When Paxton unexpectedly made a wish, both he and Philip thought he must have superpowers…except Donald, who doesn’t seem to believe it. When Paxton wished that the Caledonian engine would disappear so that he wouldn’t laugh at him and later gets asked by a few engines where he has gone, can he wish for him to be found? Now there’s something you don’t see everyday. A Thomas-inspired story from another TV show: that being Theodore Tugboat. I have seen other users’ episodes that are written to be Thomas-esque such as TUGS, Fireman Sam and Bob the Builder (the latter two I’m not a fan of though). However, apart from Daniel Alsop, nobody ever really did episodes based off of Theodore. Some say it’s nothing compared to TUGS but it does look real in terms of its setting if you can get past its format (that being the real Big Harbor that is based on locations and boat equipment in Halifax Harbor in Nova Scotia, Canada). Plus, Robert Cardona was involved in said-show and like with TUGS, they kept using the atmosphere really well. Onto the episode itself, I took it upon myself to base it on Theodore the All-Powerful which is one of my favorite episodes that works well as a Thomas episode. However, it focuses more on side-characters because I feel that using the main cast like Thomas or Percy just wouldn’t work (as they would’ve been mature by this point). Plus, there are a few minor TVS only characters who are much more naive and younger than the two which I think fit the bill for more story opportunities like Rosie, Rebecca, Paxton, Philip, etc. Speaking of Paxton, he is such another fan-favorite character that is so fun to write for. He’s basically Sodor’s own Winnie the Pooh (Someone who hasn’t the brightest idea of anything, but charming and kind with a heart of gold). Finally, I may have not said this in the description of Unwanted Passengers, but that and this episode are the ones of this season where we see Donald & Douglas getting the main spotlight separately. As TheUnluckyTug puts it in his S3 review, having the twins separate on a few parts of Sodor gives us a glimpse into more of their personalities each. And it’s too bad the CGI Series never did anything with them as with only two episodes of them together on camera, they are always acting as bickering idiots (looking at you Emily in the Middle). Heck, not even in the mediocre BWBA, they are never even seen again (the series, not the movie). I hope you enjoy it! And kudos to TheRedJ50 and Shane Hayes SirHandel 16 for their outstanding character performances. Be sure to give it a like, comment and subscribe to this channel! NOTES: 1. I own nothing! 2. No bad comments please!
