Regarding the arrest of Argentine architect Eduardo Ignacio Murias in Brazil, his defense attorney, Ciro Chagas, reaffirmed his strategy based on the principle of legality, asserting that "technically, what I said about his opinion in a private chat is completely untenable," arguing that the crime under investigation "requires an external, not a private, expression." However, Carla Junqueira, an expert in International Law, disagreed with this position. "There is already jurisprudence in Brazil that a message with racist content sent to a third party, even in a private chat, if the victim later becomes aware of it, constitutes an individualized act and, therefore, a criminal offense," she stated on Modo Fontevecchia, broadcast on Net TV and Radio Perfil (AM 1190).
