Hidden Gem Darling | Sweets, Brewery, Roosterkoek & Ultimate Braai - Braai Adventures

Welcome to Braai Adventures Vlog 24! In this episode, we take a road trip to the beautiful town of Darling in the Western Cape, a true hidden gem on the West Coast known for its rich history, local food, and unique experiences. We kick off the day at a charming local padstal, where we enjoy some of the best roosterkoek in the Western Cape, fresh, warm, and packed with flavour. From there, we head into the heart of Darling to visit the famous Darling Sweets, where we taste their iconic handmade toffees and explore the legendary Evita se Perron, one of South Africa’s most unique cultural attractions. No trip to Darling would be complete without a stop at Darling Brewery, where we enjoy a beer tasting and experience some of the best craft beer the West Coast has to offer. We also take some time to learn about the history of Darling with a visit to the local museum, giving us a deeper appreciation for this small town and its heritage. To end off the adventure the only proper way, with a traditional South African braai at the historic 1910 Old Forge Inn Bar and Restaurant. On the fire, we prepare a proper braai feast and finish things off with a twist: a delicious dessert jaffle cooked over the coals.
