Donington Park - Crash and Action - BARC Weekend - June 2026

A one day race meeting at Donington Park this time, courtesy of the BARC; and for the one day it was only one type of car on track, Caterhams! Was quite surprised to see a wet circuit early in the morning considering the UK has been cooked relentlessly with ridiculous temperatures and not a cloud in the sky recently, but with the heat and about 100 cars driving round it quickly dried out. It was a display of classic Caterham racing all day, with most cars in every race joining onto the back of someone else and driving around the track playing their own version of snake, with marker posts and wheel arches being the apples. In theory the old hairpin isn't the best place to be for these slip-streaming cars because the 'standard' way to get through this section of corners is to stay line astern, but that doesn't stop some drivers giving it a go at getting past, even if the likelihood is they'll be overtaken at the next corner...
