DJay 95 Plays: Virtua Racing (Arcade) Longplay

Hey players, DJay here with another arcade longplay on another racing sim of the 90's, Virtua Racing. Description of the game: Virtua Racing is a 3D arcade racing simulator by Sega for the arcades in October 1992, released on the Sega Model 1 hardware as its debuting title. An expanded version named Virtua Formula was released in 1993 with a new feature being expanded multiplayer and a wider 16:9 monitor. It was later ported on the Sega 32X and Sega Genesis in 1994, on the Sega Saturn in 1995 and in 2004 on PlayStation 2 and in 2019 on Nintendo Switch in the Sega Ages 2500 series (Vol. 8) as a remake. It was Sega's answer to Namco's Winning Run series as Sega competed with Namco's System 21 hardware at the time. Players take on 3 different courses assorted by difficulty and drive a Formula car while competing against 15 other opponents or against other players in multiplayer. While doing so, the player must also reach the finish before the timer expires. Each race are 5 laps long in length by default and are 20 laps in Grand Prix mode. Pits can be entered in any time (except Bay Bridge which has no pit lane) to repair damage or replace worn down tires. If the player wins a race in 1st place, an ending is awarded. If the player runs out of time, the game ends. Slipstream your way to victory and emerge as the champion.
