YAESU G-5500 Elevation Gearbox Repair.

Repairs to a seized Gearbox preventing elevation on my G-5500 azimuth elevation rotator. it's the second time doing this repair in 20 years so not too bad for Yorkshire Pennine mountain weather. The unit does absorb moisture, the lube/grease eventually dries out and you end up with gears sticking and eventually seizures causing the unit to Lock up. never fear! it's a easy enough repair with care and you only need a decent screwdriver some spanners, penetration oil and fresh grease/lube and a wind free day. hope the video helps someone who has the same problem. mine is quieter and working perfectly again. the entire time taken was 3 hours including coffee and lunch break. 73
