Gabriels | Live at North Sea Jazz 2023

Singer Jacob Lusk is the face but mostly the great voice of the band Gabriels, but producers Ari Balouzian and Ryan Hope are just as important to the success of the band Gabriels: they complete the group’s sound – which ranges from pulsing strings full of seventies soul to precisely tempered pre-war blues. We see the songs 'Offering', 'Love and Hate in a Different Time' and 'Great Wind' live at the North Sea Jazz Festival 2023 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The trio caused a stir in 2021 with their first EP Love And Hate In A Different Time. They released the first part of their impressive debut album Angels & Queens last year and completed it this year with part two. The album is the result of a collaboration with Sounwave, known as Kendrick Lamar's producer. Like Lusk, the latter two hail from Compton, a tough part of Los Angeles that is best known for hip-hop. And that, too, echoes in Gabriels' music.
