It’s officially named “Hashima”, but the looking of the island from the sea resembles like a battle ship, so it turned to be locally called the Gunkanzima. Coal was produced at this area from the bottom of the sea at that time, so coal miners and their family massively moved to the small and narrow island to live there and construct apartments to live.
