Avoiding Cold Tire Crashes | What actually works?
Face it, cold tire crashes are the worst. So how do we get heat in our tires as quickly as possible? We have all seen riders swerving like F1 when the safety car is out. But, does that actually do anything? What about the riders you see braking and accelerating before getting on track? Shade vs Sun while parked? What about just riding around? If your at the track or racing ow quickly will the heat dissipate after taking off tire warmers? We wanted to know, so we did a few tests on our trusty Yamaha MT-10's out fitted with the latest Bridgestone S23's. The weather was perfect; cold and windy! We looked at surface temp and air pressure. The results were pretty surprising!
