After registration, the app centralizes information about the driver's life, such as license details, registered vehicles, fines, and document sharing. One of the main changes is in the theoretical legislation course, which has become entirely online and free. Previously, this course cost an average of R$ 319 in Minas Gerais, according to a survey by the Mercado Mineiro website in 2025. After completion and issuance of the digital certificate, the candidate goes to the website of the Detran (Department of Motor Vehicles) of their state to complete the formal registration and pay the state fee — in Minas Gerais, this is R$ 115.80. Next, medical and psychological exams take place. With the provisional measure published at the end of 2025, a national ceiling was established for these exams: R$ 90 for each, totaling R$ 180. The process includes biometric and fingerprint data collection. In case of failure, a retake is permitted at no additional cost, depending on local rules. The theoretical driving test remains mandatory and, in Minas Gerais, costs R$ 115.80. After passing, the candidate can begin practical driving lessons. Here is another significant change: the requirement of 20 hours of driving school lessons is no longer mandatory. Now, the minimum required is two hours of instruction, which can be done at driving schools or with independent instructors, including using a regular vehicle without dual controls. The practical exam has also been made more flexible. Candidates can take it with their own vehicle, a borrowed vehicle, or a rented vehicle, without the requirement of using a driving school car. In Minas Gerais, the practical exam fee is R$ 115.80, and the end of the mandatory rental requirement can represent additional savings, since this service cost, on average, R$ 226.67. Based on the previous values, obtaining a driver's license in Minas Gerais cost around R$ 2,700. In the new model, considering approval in all stages and the use of a personal vehicle, the cost can drop to approximately R$ 787, a reduction of over 70%.
