Serenade to Music - Radio 3's review
In 2024 Albion Records released ALBCD059 'Serenade to Music - An Exploration of the 16 Singers chosen for the First Performance.' Uniquely, this album presents one track performed by each of the singers who took part in the first performance in 1938 and recorded it a few weeks later. In addition, there is a remastering of that 1938 recording. On 23 March 2024, the release was discussed on Radio 3's flagship programme 'Record Review' by its regular presenter, Andrew McGregor and the pianist Julius Drake. This short film captures their discussion, which included excerpts from the album.
