At the 32nd Graduation Ceremony organized by the Police Vocational Training Center (POMEM) in Karabük, 408 students who successfully completed their training took their first steps into the police profession. The graduation ceremony, held in the POMEM grounds, was attended by Karabük Governor Oktay Çağatay, AK Party Karabük Member of Parliament Cem Şahin, Safranbolu District Governor Hayrettin Baskın, Eflani District Governor Ömer Bulut, Eflani Mayor Hüsnü Akın, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Senior Colonel İsmail Gökçek, Provincial Police Chief First Class Ahmet Canver, POMEM Director First Class Police Chief Koray Yalınkaya, Provincial Special Administration General Secretary Şerafettin Kelleci, Karabük University Vice Rector Ragıp Karaş, institution directors, political party representatives, and the families of the graduating students. Governor Çağatay: “Today We Entrust Our New Security Officers to Our Nation” Speaking at the ceremony, Karabük Governor Oktay Çağatay stated that graduation is not merely the completion of an educational process, but the presentation of new police officers, who will serve in the state's security services, to the service of the nation. Çağatay emphasized that the police profession is not only about enforcing the law, saying, “The uniform you wear represents the dignity of our state, the trust our nation places in you, and our commitment to the rule of law. Our citizens will see in you not only the power of the state but also its compassion.” Emphasizing that security is one of the fundamental conditions for development and social welfare, Çağatay stated that the Police Organization performs its duties with great sacrifices for the peace of the nation and wished success to the 408 graduating police candidates in their careers. POMEM Director Yalınkaya: “Our Goal is to Train Trustworthy Police Officers” In his speech at the graduation ceremony, Karabük POMEM Director Koray Yalınkaya stated that the center has provided training to thousands of police officers and trainees since 2011. Yalınkaya said, “The 408 students we are graduating today will begin their duties as individuals committed to the rule of law, respectful of human rights, following technological developments, and aware of the expectations of our nation. Our goal is not only to train police officers; it is to train trustworthy, problem-solving, conscientious, and highly responsible police officers.” Addressing the young police candidates, Yalınkaya emphasized that justice should be the compass, law the guide, and conscience the companion. The top three students who graduated with honors were presented with various gifts by the Governor of Karabük, Oktay Çağatay. The program continued with the oath ceremony and cap-throwing ceremony, where 408 graduating police officers shared their happiness with their families and took their first steps into their professional lives.
