Phil Leadbetter and Steve Gulley "Tennessee Waltz"

Bluegrass greats Phil Leadbetter and Steve Gulley gave the Blue Plate Special audience just a small taste of what you’ll hear at our upcoming 20th Year Celebration Show at the Bijou Theater on November 17, 2017. Phil Leadbetter is a Grammy Nominated / Atlanta Country Music Hall Of Fame Member, and 2005 and 2014 IBMA "Dobro Player Of The Year". He has played with JD Crowe and the New South, Wildfire, and helped form the super-group Grasstowne with Steve Gulley and Alan Bibey. Phil also has several solo albums, and his 2005 "Slide Effects" was voted "Best Instrumental Album" at the International Bluegrass Music Awards. This video is a beautiful rendition of the “Tennessee Waltz”, featuring Phil on his new Recording King "Phil Leadbetter" prototype resonator guitar. Steve Gulley’s soaring tenor voice is instantly recognizable and he has received multiple Male Vocalist of the Year nominations at SPBGMA. Steve has played with Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Mountain Heart, and was a founding member of Grasstowne. He is also a talented guitarist and songwriter, and "Through The Window Of A Train," which Steve co-wrote with Tim Stafford, was voted IBMA Song Of The Year for 2008.
