After kanji was introduced to Japan, kanji began to be used by matching them to Japanese sounds. The cursive form of these kanji was further refined to create a softer, more beautiful kana character. Kana character shapes retain the feel of the original shape of the moji. Also, if you are not familiar with the moji, such as the protruding end of the stroke, you may end up with an incorrect character shape, so try to memorize all 50 moji.
