Cusseta, Georgia (Small Town USA) Ride-Thru - Old Jailhouse 1902-1975 - City Park

Another small town we often pass by just off the main road. There's a post office, library, city hall, sheriff's office, and several churches. No Wal-Mart here and we didn't even find a Dollar General in town. These little places capture my interest probably because I grew up in small towns. A lot of the small towns I grew up in and around though are for the most part large cities now. These all seem to be on the verge of disappearing completely. I suppose the difference is that they aren't close to an expressway. The people grow up and leave for opportunity that these towns no longer are able to offer.
