豊臣秀長ゆかりの城下町宇陀松山 Uda Matsuyama - A histric castle town associated with Toyotomi Hidenaga

今回は、豊臣秀長が整備を進めた大和国の歴史を今に伝える城下町、奈良県宇陀市松山地区を訪れました。 松山地区は、戦国時代から江戸時代にかけて城下町として発展した歴史ある町です。現在も白壁の町家や伝統的な建物が数多く残り、静かで美しい町並みを歩きながら、日本の歴史や文化を感じることができます。 宇陀はまた古くから「薬草のまち」として知られています。1729年に開園した森野旧薬園は、日本最古の民間薬草園です。園内では250種を超える薬草や薬木が育てられており、四季折々の花や植物を楽しみながら、日本の伝統的な薬草文化に触れることができます。 歴史ある町並みと薬草文化が息づく宇陀松山は、訪れる人に特別な魅力と安らぎを感じさせてくれる町です。 This time, I visited the Matsuyama District of Uda City in Nara Prefecture, a historic castle town that preserves the legacy of the Sengoku warlord Toyotomi Hidenaga. Matsuyama is a historic town that flourished as a castle town from the Warring States period through the Edo period. Even today, many traditional white-walled townhouses and historic buildings remain, allowing visitors to experience Japan’s history and culture while strolling through its quiet and beautiful streets. Uda is also known as the “Town of Medicinal Herbs,” a reputation it has held for centuries. The Morino Old Medicinal Herb Garden, established in 1729, is the oldest private medicinal herb garden in Japan. More than 250 varieties of medicinal plants and trees are cultivated there, where visitors can enjoy seasonal flowers and plants while learning about Japan’s traditional herbal culture.
