Two former employees of Julio Iglesias's mansions have accused the singer of sexually assaulting them, according to an investigation published Tuesday by elDiario.es in collaboration with Univision News. The testimonies come from domestic workers who claim to have worked for the artist in 2021 at his residences in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. The younger of the two was 22 years old at the time of the alleged incidents. The women describe an environment of control, harassment, and abuse of power during their time working for Iglesias, then 77 years old, and characterize behaviors they classify as sexual assault and repeated humiliation. According to the report, the incidents occurred while they were live-in employees and have been documented following a three-year journalistic investigation, which includes additional testimonies and documentary evidence. The Más Madrid Parliamentary Group has submitted a motion to the Assembly demanding the revocation of the Community's Gold Medal awarded to Julio Iglesias. The Madrid president responded via Twitter.
