Dóchas Nua (A New Hope) - Irish Language Star Wars Adaptation

Ireland, 1977. An ambitious young farmer yearns for something bigger than himself… Our first short film of the year and our first short film as Gaeilge, made for The People's Picturehouse Cork "Shot for Seachtain" challenge to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge! The aim of the challenge was to remake or parody scenes from famous movies as Gaeilge, so we decided to remake a pivotal scene from 'Star Wars: A New Hope', but also to adapt the scene further to set it in 1970's rural Ireland! A fun challenge that took us out of our comfort zone, as our level of Irish is rusty at best. Hope you enjoy!
