Confluencia Sessions #7 - Acesso à saúde digital, atitudes e percepções

Access to digital health and patients' perceptions of technology use are central themes for improving clinical care. To discuss these issues, the Advanced Studies Group on Technology and Information in Health with a focus on Vulnerable Populations (Confluencia), from the Institute of Advanced Studies - Ribeirão Preto Campus of USP, will hold the online conference “Access to digital health, attitudes and perceptions: personalized interventions to meet patients' needs” on July 8th at 11:00 AM. This event is part of the Confluencia Sessions series. The event will be exclusively online, in English, and broadcast on the IEA-RP YouTube channel. Registration is free and can be done at rp.iea.usp.br. Certificates will be sent to participants who complete an attendance form that will be sent in the chat during the event. The speaker will be Esther Metting, a professor at the University of Groningen, Netherlands. She will discuss how personalized interventions can be developed to meet the specific needs of patients, considering individual attitudes and perceptions towards digital health tools and the impact of patient involvement in this process. Esther Metting is a psychologist and epidemiologist, currently an assistant professor at the University Medical Center Groningen and the University of Groningen. Her doctoral dissertation, entitled "Development of a patient-centered management for asthma and COPD in primary care," focused on the use of technology and patient involvement. She recently received a Veni Talent grant from the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research to research digital illiteracy in different European countries. The opening and moderation of the meeting will be conducted by the coordinator of the Confluencia Group and professor at the Ribeirão Preto Faculty of Medicine (FMRP) of USP, Maria Cristiane Barbosa Galvão. Closing remarks will be made by Arthur Dias Mendoza, professor at the Federal University of Latin American Integration (Unila).
