[31:1] And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: [31:2] See, I have called by name Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; [31:3] and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, understanding, and knowledge, and with all kinds of craftsmanship, [31:4] to make artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze; [31:5] to cut stones for setting, and to cut wood, to do all kinds of work. [31:6] And behold, I have given with him Oholiab son of Ahisamah, of the tribe of Dan; And I have put wisdom in the heart of every discerning person, so that they may do everything I have commanded you: [31:7] the tent of meeting, the ark of the testimony, the mercy seat on it, and all the furnishings of the tent; [31:8] the table and its utensils, the pure lampstand and all its utensils, the altar of incense; [31:9] the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, the basin and its base; [31:10] the garments for service, the holy garments of Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons for serving as priests; [31:11] the anointing oil and the fragrant incense for the holy place. They shall do everything I have commanded you. [31:12] And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: [31:13] “Speak to the Israelites, saying: ‘You shall surely keep my Sabbaths, for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, so that you may know that I am the Lord, who sanctifies you.’ [31:14] You shall keep the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Whoever profanes it shall surely be put to death, for whoever does any work on it—that person shall be cut off from among their people. [31:15] Six days shall be devoted to work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall surely be put to death. [31:16] The Israelites shall keep the Sabbath, to observe it throughout their generations—a perpetual covenant. [31:17] This is a sign between me and the Israelites forever; for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed. [31:18] When he had finished speaking with Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the covenant law, tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God.
