Endodontic instrument fractures rarely occur due to a single cause. Most often, they result from the interaction between canal anatomy, file design, metal fatigue, apical pressure, torque, speed, and motor kinematics. In this live session, we will discuss how to correctly interpret endodontic motor parameters and understand why increasing or decreasing speed, modifying torque, or choosing a specific movement does not, in isolation, guarantee greater clinical safety. More than just presenting numbers, we will analyze the reasoning behind motor configuration, the signs that precede fracture, and the clinical decisions that truly reduce the risk of instrument separation. Because the motor controls the movement—but the operator controls the risk.
