Вся правда о шоу MTV «Тачка на прокачку»
On the MTV show "Pimp My Ride," which ran from 2004 to 2007, hundreds of jalopies were transformed into cool cars tailored to each participant's taste. Rapper Xzibit hosted the show, and under his guidance, each week, beat-up and dented buckets on wheels were completely transformed before your eyes. It usually started with a paint job and bright designs, and then each car received some crazy feature inspired by the participants' stories. However, the truth is, there were plenty of questionable things going on behind the scenes, which would definitely make you reluctant to pimp your ride. So, here's the whole truth about MTV's "Pimp My Ride." ***** Super deals from AliExpress https://cutt.ly/hr3IcN * Original video is here: Top Trending • The TRUTH About MTV's Pimp My Ride * Music provided by NCS: http://spoti.fi/NCS Track name: Alan Walker - Spectre * My channel with interesting auto news: / @АвтоНовости-с5у * My channel about watches: / @МирНаручныхЧасов-ь2х * My channel about healthy lifestyle and bodybuilding: / dehash666 ***** 1. In 2013, a guy named Justin Derrenger created a post on Reddit about his participation in Justin appeared on "Pimp My Ride" in 2005. In it, he said it took the show's mechanics over five months to pimp his ride. However, in the actual episode, it looked like the car had only been in the showroom for a few days. After such a long wait, it turned out that the entire pimping was, in Justin's words, "a Mickey Mouse-level cosmetic touchup." All the car's mechanical issues remained intact, as the show's creators focused solely on the car's appearance. At the end, Justin added that during the five to seven months the car was being pimped, the contestants had to walk or spend money on other means of transportation. Since not every home has two cars, the contestants had to rent cars. It's worth noting that many of the contestants were under 25, so renting a car was often a hassle. It's a shame MTV didn't provide bus tickets for the contestants. 2. Another set of interesting facts about the show surfaced in 2015 thanks to the Huffington Post, which published interviews with Justin and other contestants. First, the entire show was staged from the very first shot. Even during audition tapes, the contestants told either exaggerated or outright false stories. For example, producers asked one of the contestants, 25-year-old Brooke, to say she was actually 22. Apparently, by MTV standards, 25 is the age of dinosaurs. She was also asked to lie about being a big movie fan, even though she wasn't. The show's creators simply came up with a movie-themed car design and wanted to use it on the show. Brooke added that the scene in which Xzibit unexpectedly shows up at her home was staged. By that point, she had already been informed about her participation in the show, and she knew full well that the rapper would soon be knocking on her door. Besides, it wasn't her home. Other contestants noted that their experiences were similar. MTV staff rented houses that matched the show's theme, invited the contestants inside, and told them when to open the door for the rapper, forcing them to act completely surprised. 3. The show's creators also tried to create unique stories for each contestant. For example, a guy named Seth told the Huffington Post that his episode heavily emphasized his weight. Because Seth was large, the show's creators scattered candy bars in the backseat of his car and forced him to say on camera that he had done it. They also asked him to add that he loved sweet snacks. So, his souped-up car was equipped with a cotton candy machine, and Seth immediately started gobbling it down, so viewers wouldn't forget how much he weighed. 4. Another contestant named Jake told the producers that his grandmother sometimes smoked in the car. So they scattered dozens of cigarette butts throughout the car, creating the impression that Grandma chain-smoked there. They also wrote Jake an extra backstory: no one wanted to talk to him because of his hideous car. However, in reality, Jake had a girlfriend, and MTV told him either not to mention her or to dump her. Luckily, he chose the former. But Jake's story doesn't end there; MTV decided his car wasn't shabby enough to be featured on screen. So they used airplane paint stripper to achieve the desired look—it now looked like the bumper was about to fall off. It's surprising they didn't drop a piano on the roof to remove the patterns. Jake's reaction to the finished product was also fake. The show's creators wanted the contestants to be overjoyed, and Jake didn't manage to feign wild joy the first time around.
