Pancor Jackhammer – Succès Populaire Mais Echec Commercial

Indeed, only three functional examples were produced, and only one still exists today. Its designer, John Anderson, wanted to offer the US Army a new type of combat shotgun using 12-gauge ammunition. His idea was to provide an automatic, bullpup weapon with a much higher rate of fire than a classic pump-action shotgun. Unfortunately for Anderson, the US Department of Defense decided not to adopt his invention despite extensive testing. Mechanically, the Jackhammer is particularly interesting and blends mechanisms used by other weapons, notably revolvers like the Nagant and the Webley-Fosbery.
