Mazda 3 Oil change - including filter
Showing how to change the oil on a Mazda 3. For the job I puchased the following items: 5W20 high mileage oil (5 quarts) Oil filter with new seals M14 washer Funnel Before releasing the oil, make sure to warm up the engine, so most of the dirt particles come out with the oil. The engine has two drain plugs. One on the side of the oil pan and one on the filter housing cover. To allow the filter housing to drain propperly, make sure to losen the filter housing cover by one revolution before removing the drain plug. When replacing the seals on the filter housing cover and the drain plug, make sure to lubricate the seals with fresh oil before installing them. The filter housing cover should be fastened to 24 ft-lb. The oil pan drain plug should be fastened to 30 ft-lb. Make sure to use a new washer on the drain plug.
