1986 Volkswagen Scirocco 16V POV Test Drive
This 1986 Volkswagen Scirocco is finished in Tornado Red and powered by a 16-valve 1.8L inline-four that has been fitted with a revised cylinder head, a Techtonics stainless-steel exhaust, and a Borla muffler. Power is delivered to the front wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle, and additional modifications include silver-finished 15″ BBS wheels, Solöwerks coilovers, chassis braces, and Eurosport strut and shock tower braces as well as cross-drilled and slotted brake rotors. Additional equipment includes a hatch-mounted spoiler, a sunroof, side skirts, air conditioning, a MOMO steering wheel, a Sony head unit, a Blaupunkt subwoofer, and front bucket seats upholstered in black leather. The car was refurbished in 2017 before the current owner acquired it on BaT in October 2019, and it now shows 184k miles. A replacement heater core, voltage regulator, and more were installed in preparation for the sale. This 16V Scirocco is now offered on dealer consignment in Oregon with records of the recent service, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Washington title.
