He received his bachelor's degree in literature from Allameh Tabatabaei University, his master's degree from Karaj Azad University, and his doctorate in Persian literature from Kurdistan University in Sanandaj. He is currently a faculty member and lecturer at Karaj Azad University. Kakavand is also known for his Hafez poetry and storytelling.
