SDE Video Feature on President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s Visit to Typhoon-Affected Areas in Visayas and Mindanao December 24, 2021 President Rodrigo Roa Duterte vows that all national government agencies shall deliver unhampered relief operations and rehabilitation efforts this holiday season to cater to the needs and expedite the recovery of his ‘kababayans’ affected by the onslaught of Typhoon ‘Odette’ (international name: Rai) that brought massive destruction in the country last week. After making a series of visits to all regions afflicted by the wrath of Typhoon ‘Odette’, the President pledges appropriate funding to provide for the basic essentials needed by the victims such as food, water, shelter and medical assistance, among others. Considered to be the strongest typhoon to hit the Philippines this year, Typhoon ‘Odette’ left a trail of devastation in several regions within the Visayas and Mindanao. Following this situation, President Duterte declared a State of Calamity over six (6) regions to hasten all rehabilitation efforts and relief operations in the affected localities.
