Part 1: CSM TENSION + Sock Log: How I figure out my optimal tension, plus my sock log
I decided to use some yarn I haven't used in forever which means I needed to determine what tension to use, so this is how I do that. I also go over my sock log and show how to count rows per inch. It's a 2 parter because I forgot to put my phone on do not disturb and I got a phone call oops! I also touch very very lightly on my foot row calculating worksheet but that's a whole nother kettle of fish, and I'm not entirely happy with it so I didn't go into it very much at all. That would need to be it's own video. I'm kind of all over the place, I apologize! I don't think I ever explicitly said this so, I tighten the tension until the stitches don't fall down on the cylinder quickly. Then I loosen it 1 click and that's my optimal tension for that yarn. As always: THIS IS WHAT WORKS FOR ME. I like knitting my socks as tight as I can. You may not like as tight a tension as this, or find a better way to track your tension. To each their own! (Please do not contact me about how I'm doing it all wrong.) You can download my sock log file (in PDF or Excel) as well as foot row calculator from my blog post here. Any future files will also be added to this page: http://www.crazymokes.com/2019/10/soc... Yarn is by Painted Tiger, in their Journey sock base, colorway is Raspberry Mocha: https://www.thepaintedtiger.com/
