Mongolia's endless grasslands and sands Yaks, animals that live on the high plateaus at 2,500 to 4,000 meters above sea level, enjoy cold weather and are capable of climbing high mountains. Meanwhile, the two-humped camel is a unique animal of the Gobi Desert, found only in Mongolia. Despite their different habitats, the yak and camel have had similar roles since ancient times: as living vehicles transporting goods and people to various locations in Mongolia. This Spirit of Asia journey takes everyone to meet The "connection" between "Mongolians" and animals like yaks and two-humped camels has defined the Mongolian way of life for centuries. MONGOLIA’S NEVER-ENDING STEPPES AND DESERTS Yaks are raised at altitudes between 2,500 and 4,000 meters above sea level, where the climate is cold year-round. Yaks are skilled at climbing high mountains, while two-humped camels are considered the "ships of the desert." This species of two-humped camels can only be found in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia. Despite the differences in habitats, the yaks and the camels of Mongolia have served as "beasts of burden" since ancestral times. On this trip, our Spirit of Asia team takes you on a journey to observe the Mongolian relationship with the yaks and the two-humped camels.
