He is internationally recognised for his work in water resources management, climate resilience, capacity building, and sustainable development across the Congo Basin and Africa. In 2022 he received the Rhodes University Distinguished Alumni Award. Panelists Dr Boluwaji Onabolu is an international water, sanitation and public health specialist whose work spans academia, development organisations, and regional water governance in West Africa. Mr Thabo Kabini is Senior Specialist for Water Infrastructure at the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), with extensive experience in engineering, integrated water resources management, and development finance. Ms Lungelihle Dlamini is an emerging freshwater ecologist, science communicator, author, and environmental advocate whose research focuses on plastic pollution in South African rivers and youth leadership for environmental justice. This event was hosted as part of the Africa Day celebrations by Rhodes University in partnership with Amazwi South African Museum of Literature.
