Malyavin & Arkhipov," dedicated to Abram Efimovich Arkhipov. Exhibition curator: Ekaterina Dmitrievna Evseeva, senior researcher in the Department of Painting of the Second Half of the 19th - Early 20th Centuries. Abram Arkhipov was one of the most striking and original artists of the Moscow school of the late 19th century, which brought together painters who studied under Vasily Perov, Alexei Savrasov, and Vasily Polenov. For Arkhipov, the theme of closeness to the people was important – for him, the life of ordinary peasants was a natural element; Abram Efimovich observed this life from the inside.
