Best Answer. Welcome to another educational HR video on how to pass a job interview. Sometimes we leave a job. Sometimes we are laid off. Sometimes we are fired. How should we explain to an interviewer (whether they are a recruiter or hiring manager), and how MUCH should we explain. Well, it depends on whether it is a first-round interview or a later-round interview. What we say also depends on whether we were laid off, left/resigned, or were fired. I give broad guidelines and example answers in all of these situations, as well as several principles that are at play. Knowing these can help to frame your answer. My goal is to focus on the real-world aspects of business, giving practical tips and tricks that are not usually covered in school.
