The Girlboss Archetype is Killing Female Characters

The strong female character has been a popular archetype in media for a long time. After women demanded better representation, we were finally presented with a new kind of female character. This character was a stubborn, hyper-independent, flawless, “not like other girls” character. Essentially, what we know as the Girlboss. A character that essentially rejects femininity and puts down other women, as she sees them as weak. She identifies with men instead, and wants to align herself with them. But is that what real strength and female empowerment truly look like? I think we got it all wrong. The true girlboss, the true strong female character is actually feminine, a fearless supporter of women, and embraces pink unapologetically. The perfect example of this is Elle Woods from Legally Blonde. Of course, these are just my opinions, we all have different opinions, I hope you enjoy the video! 📌 Subscribe for more deep dives, character/storytelling analysis, and videos on music, movies, and books! ✨ Listen to Once Upon A Ramble Here: 🎧Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast... 🎙️Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1AGIgf6...
