On Dec 12 President Lee Jae Myung asked if the Northeast Asia History Foundation was considering the Hwandan Gogi as a historical resource. The response was overwhelming since the Hwandan Gogi has been judged a forgery, and the Blue House issued a statement on Dec 14 that it was not advocating the study of the discredited text. The deeper issue is the Korean government's defunding Harvard's "Early Korea Project" 8 years ago because of the government's preference for Hwandan Gogi.
