#INSIDE: Voci dal deserto: clima, guerra e migrazioni nel Medio Oriente contemporaneo
with Alessia Melcangi and Lorenzo Pregliasco Alessia Melcangi, a historian and political scientist specializing in the Middle East, will draw inspiration from photographer Nick Brandt's exhibition "The Day May Break" to offer a reflection on the key geopolitical dynamics currently affecting the region. Specifically, the fourth installment in the series, "The Echo of Our Voices," shot in the Jordanian desert, portrays Syrian refugee families living in prolonged displacement in an increasingly fragile environment. Drawing on these images, the talk will explore the interconnections between climate crisis, conflict, and migration in the Middle East.
