Former chef and food connoisseur Kuroda travels all over Japan, exploring the unique local cuisine, tasting it in its place of origin, sometimes even making it himself, and learning about its history and background. This time, we're searching for local cuisine around Kurayoshi City, Tottori Prefecture, known as "the land where the blessings and history of the majestic Mt. Daisen breathe"! Enjoying the historically rich scenery and refreshing breezes, we'll savor the exquisite local cuisine! Our first stop is "Michi-no-Eki Hojo," a roadside station selling a wide variety of local vegetables. With fresh ingredients such as "Sand Dune Grapes," a specialty of Hokuei Town, and "Nebarikko," a brand of nagaimo (long yam) born in Tottori, this is Tottori's proud "food theme park"! This time, our Maeharu research focuses on "Ohara Tomatoes," which we also discovered at "Michi-no-Eki Hojo"! Actually, it's said that giving tomatoes a moderate amount of stress significantly increases their sweetness. By deliberately cultivating them without heating—a "no-heating" method—and letting them grow slowly in a near-natural environment, they become incredibly delicious! And now, for the show's regular gourmet cooking segment…! Together with announcer Fujii, who has experience studying French cuisine in France, the three of them will take on the challenge of making authentic French cuisine for the first time on the show!
