AgriSea application to Mangatea - Tainui Group Holdings Farm

Our partnership with Agrisea to trial organic seaweed fertiliser at our Mangatea dairy unit just got exciting! The fertiliser is applied by helicopter and wow, did we experience some mean piloting skills. Our Paamu team has opted for this fertiliser to build soil quality and protect the Mangatea stream, which runs through the property, from chemical fertiliser run-off. An added massive benefit is that this fertiliser includes Ecotain seed, a plant which has the ability to reduce methane emissions from the cow and nitrate leaching through the soil. Our goal is to preserve the waterways on all our farms so that future generations of iwi members can harvest tuna and watercress from a clean and pristine source.
