VW Golf GTE Mechatronic Disassembly — DQ400E Valve Body Stripped Down Step by Step part Two.
In Part 2 of this series, we continue diagnosing a 2017 Volkswagen Golf GTE hybrid with fault code P0867-00 — Transmission Fluid Pressure Function Restriction Due to Low Pressure. After removing the Mechatronic unit in Part 1, we sent it to ECU Testing for diagnosis. Unfortunately, despite their initial promise, they were unable to find or repair the fault. A genuine replacement Mechatronic unit from TPS — the official Volkswagen Audi Group parts supplier in the UK — was quoted at £4,000. With no affordable replacement available and the vehicle blocking our only workshop ramp for over two weeks, we made the decision to fully dismantle the DQ400E Mechatronic valve body assembly to find the root cause of the fault. In this video we cover: ✅ Full Mechatronic valve body disassembly on the DQ400E transmission ✅ Identifying and organising the 15+ different screw lengths ✅ Separating the Transmission Control Unit from the valve body ✅ Removing the solenoid valve assembly and oil pump ✅ Full three-layer valve body separation with gaskets ✅ Part numbers for both valve body layers — 0DD 325 066C and 0DD 325 065E ✅ Honest review of our experience with ECU Testing ⚠️ Important Notice: This disassembly was carried out with zero liability and is not a recommended procedure. Torque specifications for internal Mechatronic screws are not published by Volkswagen, and some screws may be single-use items.
