HGP Tech-Update 2019: 483 PS im Golf 7 R mit Ottopartikelfilter - Wie macht HGP das?

For all HGP fanboys (and girls). ✌🏼 After repeated inquiries about how and if anything can be done with the new OPF versions (in terms of sound and horsepower), I asked Martin Gräf to explain the topic to me. In short: Initially, there were experiments with their own gasoline particulate filters, which reduced exhaust backpressure accordingly. However, HGP wasn't completely satisfied with this. In the end, they redesigned the turbocharger themselves and were thus able to massively reduce exhaust backpressure even before the turbine (i.e., before the turbocharger). The exhaust system was also redesigned. A larger pipe diameter combined with optimized pipe routing and a flow-optimized high-performance catalytic converter result in a power output (in the 2.0 TSI) of currently up to 483 hp (despite gasoline particulate filters) and improved throttle response.
