If you are seeing this video, you have probably seen some of our other videos describing the discovery of the lifecycle of the amethyst hairstreak, Chlorostrymon maesites in Broward County, Florida. This 2023 discovery helped us better understand a poorly understood ecosystem that exists for many butterfly and moth species that utilize sea grape trees (Coccoloba uvifera) as a larval host as well as using the blooms as a nectar source.
