That's right, no sketching, no practice, no ink, no hard lines to draw everything together (no pun intended either!). But it's not as hard as it sounds, in fact, it's quite simple, quick and wonderfully expressive. I'll start by using a 1 inch flat brush - this is great because it allows you to immediately capture long straight edges, allowing us to pull together the shapes making up an image quickly and easily. Just like with normal sketching by keeping things loose and light with our watercolour paints we can always come back later and correct and move things. These are the joys of watercolour sketching. I'll show you in this easy, fully narrated and step-by-step tutorial how I go about applying watercolours direct to our watercolour paper and producing these lovely sketches quickly and without stress.
