DEWALT 20V Chainsaw UPGRADE - stop oil leaks and BIGGER bar for DCCS620B

UPGRADE this beast with a 14" or a 16" bar and stop some of the oil leaks!! Please READ ALL the important information below! The Oregon 27856 14" bar with chain is here https://amzn.to/39khMfb and search for "Oregon 27856" The Oregon 27857 16" bar with chain is here https://amzn.to/3Qo0Y7x and search for "Oregon 27857" For stopping the oil leak around the oil cap you need a rubber o-ring with an inner diameter of 5/8" or 3/4", this is a bit of trial and error. They are super cheap at your local hardware shop, so get 2, 3 different ones. You want an o-ring that barely sticks out from the indentation in the oil cap. You need to be able to push the oil cap back in against just a LIGHT resistance. Don't try to force in the oil-cap with a big/fat o-ring, it will break! Or get one of these cheap o-ring sets from Amazon: https://amzn.to/3MHZjXy The 20V DeWalt chainsaw (tool only) is at https://amzn.to/3Qj8bWw and has crazy good reviews, with the upgrades above it is even better. With battery and charger it is here: https://amzn.to/3xlSXHE DeWalt also makes multiple 60V models but that they are very expensive, so for around the house and yard I would stick with the 20V model. Easy oil leak fix and easy bar upgrade! There are two places where this saw leaks oil: around the oil cap and in some cases around the oil tank, so the oil cap may not stop all the leaks - but it will make it a lot better! Also make sure to do a quick test afterwards to see if the chain still gets enough oil when running: with a full oil tank hold the saw over a piece of cardboard etc. and run the saw at high speed for a minute - you should see a trail of very tiny oil droplets being thrown off the bar and onto the cardboard. The 14" bar works very well in all types of wood, the 16" bar only works well in very soft wood (Pine, Doug Fir, Hemlock etc.) and doesn't really work in hardwood (Oak, Maple etc.). So if you're cutting a lot of hardwoods or a mix of soft and hard woods then stick with the 14" bar! Chainsaws are DANGEROUS, please use common sense and follow all manufacturer's instructions. Use and follow this video at your own risk, no promises, no guarantees etc. You are doing this at YOUR own risk. This may void your warranty and/or may shorten the service life of your chainsaw. And make sure you put on the new chain in the RIGHT DIRECTION, read the manual!! ALWAYS REMOVE THE BATTERY and LOCK THE CHAIN BRAKE before doing any kind of maintenance on this chainsaw!! Sort of a no-brainer but can’t be too careful and thank you for calling this out Lawrence! Make sure you get the Oregon bars that fit Echo, Craftsman, Homelite, Poulan - they will work with the DeWalt chainsaw. Bars for Stihl will NOT work. I'm an Amazon Affiliate and may receive a small commission on the sales at no extra cost for you.
