Train Cab Ride NL / 248km Ride to Leeuwarden / Den Haag - Zwolle - Leeuwarden / ICM / Nov 2024

Hi everyone! Welcome on board a brand new Full Intercity Ride! On many many request and a long time waiting I got the opportunity to record the full ride from Den Haag to Leeuwarden. All kinds of Weather We start off in darkness. At 18:59 the first light comes to day. You'll see a wonderful sunrise. There will be a cloudy part on the journey and a lot of sunshine up north in the country. Have a good one! :D 0:00 Den Haag Centraal As said: we start the ride in darkness (first light appears in Leiden). The train of course has headlights. But they are to be seen from the outside, not to give the driver a view on what is on the tracks in front of the train (we won't be able to stop for anything right in front of it). It's faster to let Intercity's make a stop on the tracks on the most left and right in the station (140km/h allowed). This so the train slows down and the air pressure in the train doesn't irritate passengers when passing the tunnel. After the tunnel we maintain normal speed again. 1:31:55 Kampen Zuid 1:36:47 Hattermerbroek Connection + Hanzeboog As off this moment I mention the company that runs trains on the line. Unfortunately NS lost many smaller lines in this area. 1:38:03 Zwolle West Switches 1:39:23 Zwolle Arriving at Zwolle for a 5 minute stop-over. The train to Groningen needs to depart ahead of us. Take a short break and get a bite or drink if you like! ;) 1:48:50 Herfte Connection 1:50:51 Camera Setup 1:53:41 Dedemsvaart 1:59:20 Province Border + Meppel Short stop in Meppel. On departure you can see the main light signal also shows the travel direction for after passing Meppel. 2:04:33 Smildervaartbrug (No Wires) Pantographs reach to their maximum height and lose contact with the wires. On the other side they slide under the wires again and make contact after a few meters. Motor power must be turned off while passing the bridge. 2:07:05 Province Border 2:09:22 Steenwijk The lower speed to 90km/h is not shown on the ATB.
