First, I'll explain the science behind this back stretching routine (and other key areas). If you observe the most common sitting posture, you'll notice that certain joints get stuck in bad positions. To improve our posture and eliminate stiffness, we must do exercises that not only move these joints in the opposite direction but also strengthen the weakened (but necessary) muscles that keep the joints in the correct position. We will apply this concept to the three most common problem areas, the areas that most affect our height: the back, shoulders, and neck. Let's start with a key point that will allow you to "grow": back stretches. The first exercise will help you improve your mid-back rotation ability. Then we will focus on stretching the back out of its curved position to strengthen some back muscles. I want to emphasize that even though these exercises may seem easy when I do them, it took me a long time to improve my mobility to reach this point, and it may be difficult for many to attempt them, so don't worry if you can't do them like I can yet. Now that we have relaxed the spine, we can work on stiff shoulders, which round the posture forward and contribute to tilting the head forward. The first exercise (and one of the tricks to growing taller) focuses on relaxing your shoulders. Once relaxed, we'll strengthen the weakened muscles in your back and shoulders. For this, we'll do an exercise I call "reverse wall angels." If you do it correctly, you should feel it in your mid-back and shoulder muscles. If you feel it more in your upper trapezius, try doing it on the floor or a bench, because your mid-back muscles might not yet be strong enough to perform it upright. If, on the other hand, it's too easy, you can add pulses to each part of the movement or even add weight to your hands. Finally, we're ready for the last piece of the puzzle: the neck, probably the easiest way to gain height. We just need to strengthen the deep neck muscles that have weakened and aren't doing their job properly to keep your head upright. Sit in a chair and, looking straight ahead, tuck your chin back. It's not about tilting your head back as far as possible; it's a very small movement, just a few centimeters, but when you do it, make sure you don't lean back or up. Your head should move in a straight line backward. Now that we've reviewed the exercises, let's see how to put them into practice for the best results. Do each exercise for 1 minute, take it easy, and try to do as many repetitions as you can.
